Tis A Very Sad Day.

Today might possibly be the worst day of my life. Or, it's high up there, that's for sure. My favourite band--yes, I said favourite--has broken up. Panic! At The Disco has broken up. On their website, it says that Ryan and Jon are leaving to pursue their own musical stuff, while Brendon and Spencer will continue on as Panic. But it won't be the same. Ryan wrote the majority of their songs, and was the co-founder of the band--along with Spencer. HOW COULD HE LEAVE? And Jon was their bassist! I know that Brendon can play any instrument he wants, but still! THEIR BASSIST! Here's the actual post from the website:

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN…

July 6th, 2009

Ryan Ross and Jon Walker will be leaving Panic at the Disco to embark on a musical excursion of their own. Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we’ve creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve. Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realize that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us. We are all excited for the future, you should be too.

-Ryan & Jon

Stay posted to the Panic site for updates on Ryan and Jon’s new project, as well as a message from Brendon and Spencer who will continue on as Panic At The Disco. All touring and album plans for Panic will continue as previously announced.

I'm really sad about this, but hope that everything goes well for the band and fans don't stop listening to them. I definitely won't, and will totally be checking up and listening to whatever Ryan and Jon post up. As for Brendon and Spencer, I wonder what will happen. Of course I'll still love them as Panic!, but it won't be the same. I'll definitely be listening to them still, because the are--and always will be--my favourite band.

I hope that Ryan and Jon stay together though, because it wouldn't be as nice if they just separated as well. At least all four are remaining friends, I hope.
